This patient-friendly article is about chemotherapy drug, Chlorambucil (Leukeran) which is a chemotherapy drug that is used to treat CLL (chronic lymphocytic leukaemia), Hodgkin’s and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, and a rare type of cancer called Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinaemia. It is taken in tablet form.
Side effects can include: lowered resistance to infection, bruising or bleeding, anaemia, fatigue, nausea and vomiting, loss of appetite. There is a low risk of seizures and of lung and liver changes.
