The Banerji Protocol for brain cancer

Complementary and Integrative Cancer Therapies
The Banerji Protocol for brain cancer is a homeopathic remedy claimed to be able to treat, and cure, brain cancers such as glioma and astrocytoma by the Prasanta Banerji Homeopathic Research Foundation in India.

At CANCERactive, we recognize that some research was undertaken by MD Anderson and when covering that research, we followed the original link to it. Indeed, the Banerji Foundation has regularly presented Case Studies on, amongst others, Brain cancer and Lung cancer at worldwide conferences. However, the original link to the MD Anderson site has since been removed. We do not know why.

You can read more on the research conducted here in an article from an outside source.

Some 5 or 6 brain cancer patients being helped by CANCERactive have used this homeopathy protocol.

Until 2017, UK patients could go to the London Homeopathic Hospital, which changed its name to The Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine (UCLH). In February 2018, patients reported that they had been told that homeopathy treatment had ceased there. There is now in London, the Dr. P Banerji’s Advanced Homeopathic Centre - describing it’s offer as ’An alternative Medical Practitioner in Barking England’. We merely pass on this information. The Banerji website in India itself says "We do not have any other branch or Web presence". I guess Banerji is a common name in India.

The same website in India on its home page talks (November 2017) of Research with MD Anderson being complete and published. It quotes only an in vitro study only with "Ruta 6 and Calcarea Phosphorica 3X showing brilliant results in killing brain cancer cells whilst activating normal cells. (Ruta 6 selectively induces cell death in brain cancer cells but proliferation in normal peripheral blood lymphocytes: A Novel Treatment for brain cancer.)"

The following information was received by a UK patient with a brain tumour. It came from Sen Pathak, Ph.D., F.N.A.Sc. Professor of Cell Biology and Genetics at MD Anderson Cancer Center, in Texas.  Sen Pathak carried out research with the Banerji Foundation under the gaze of the FDA.

Pathak obviously knows Dr. Prasanta (father) and Dr. Pratip (son) Banerji.

Unfortunately, it seems the clinical trial data has for some reason been removed from the MD Anderson website.

In all, Dr Pratip sent 5 or 6 e-mails on the protocol, which includes:

1) Ruta Gr.6CH in pills, 5 pills a dose, two doses daily morning and evening,
2) Calcarea Phos 3DH, in tablets, 5 tablets a dose, two doses daily noon and night.

One e-mail stated from Pathak to the glioma patient actually stated, “This will help you. These medicines have many instances of cure and I hope it will stop recurrence”.

He also gave me a number of homeopathic contacts in London you can get the medicines from, for example:

Comment from Chris Woollams, former Oxford University Biochemist and father of Catherine: "Why am I totally bemused? I checked the original study link on MD Anderson personally before running the ’What Doctors don’t tell you’ article. Yes, case studies and research. 44 patients, and no recurrence in 63.6%.

But the study has gone from the MD Anderson Website and the Banerji website doesn’t run this research on its home page either. I do still run it in my list of people who beat brain cancer because no one with brain cancer should miss anything that might help.

Instead, now on the Banerji website homepage, we have an in vitro study. But lots of bioactive compounds have worked with brain cancer cells in vitro - curcumin and chokeberry, for example in UK research. Do I think any one of them will beat a real brain cancer? Of course not. What is possible is that you can add these things into your treatment plan and you may get the aggregate of small benefits mounting up. For me, brain cancer is very serious. And a perfect case for creating a sensible Complementary and Integrative Programme. Catherine’s oncologist told our family that they now have people living almost as long as Catherine did. How? At his London Hospital they have them on the Atkins Diet.

And that’s where I would start if I had a brain cancer - an integrative programme - a high good fat Rainbow diet with low and only whole carbs, and colourful vegetables, supported by Berberine to cut blood sugar.

I’d also make sure that I had no yeast or pathogen infection in and around my brain. Unfortunately Catherine did have both, as do many people with brain tumours.

If I needed extra complementary strength, I’d look to the well-tolerated, repurposed old drugs Ben Williams took - like metformin, melatonin and so on.

Would I place my faith in the ’alternative’ treatment of homeopath on its own? Not likely! Would I use it as a part of a total programme? Why not? It would seem harmless and worth a try. However, I note Banerji says it is less effective if you’ve had the drugs and radiotherapy".
