Half of all cancers diagnosed too late

2014 Research

As usual, falling to cancer is your fault! According to Cancer Research UK, nearly 46% of cancers are stage 3 or stage 4 when diagnosed, giving people a much lower chance of survival. As we have one of the lowest survival rates in Europe, this argument is being touted as contributory. One wonders if people are diagnosed earlier in Latvia, where survival is ahead of ours. "Diagnosing cancer at its earliest stages, before it has had a chance to spread to other parts of the body, can have a huge effect on survival", said the charity”.

"Once a cancer has spread, it is often harder to treat successfully, meaning that a person’s chances of surviving are much lower."
