Vitamin D reduces lung cancer death risk

A new research study has suggested that death from lung cancer can be significantly reduced by taking supplements of vitamin D. (Ed: Presumably going in the sunshine would have the same beneficial effect).

The study, published in Cancer Causes and Control, reported that former/never smokers with greater serum levels (above 44nmol/litre) were 47 per cent less likely to die from  lung cancer.

However, they found that high levels of serum vitamin A could disrupt the beneficial effects of vitamin D.
