Teenage Cancer Trust believes that teenagers shouldn’t have to stop being teenagers, just because they have cancer. So they fund and build specialist units for young people in NHS hospitals. Their units bring teenagers with cancer together with loads of new friends of their own age so they can support each other.

Alongside all of this is a medical team of teenage cancer specialists who pool knowledge to create a body of expertise that’s second to none. They’re backed up by Nurse Consultants who provide clinical care, develop research, deliver professional education and ensure that standards remain as high as possible.

Teenage Cancer Trust units aren’t like ordinary cancer wards. Everything about them has been designed to give teenagers the very best chance of a positive outcome. Teenage Cancer Trust want every young person with cancer in the UK to have that chance.

On 22 November 1990, Teenage Cancer Trust’s first specialist cancer unit at the Middlesex Hospital in London was officially opened, 17 units are now open across the UK.

With celebrity supporters including, Roger Daltrey Joe McElderry, Kasabian, Craig David, Noel Fielding and Jameela Jamil the charity has a wealth of talent to call on for its fundraising concerts, comedy benefits, fun runs and auctions.

Their annual Find Your Sense of Tumour conference invites young people from across the country to attend a four day conference, solely for young people who have or have had cancer in the last 5 years or are currently having treatment. This unique conference is open to all such young people wherever they have been treated and gives young people the opportunity to find out what they need to know about cancer, its effects, share experiences and ask pertinent questions to our panel of experts. Talks range from body image to fertility, real life experiences and celebrity speakers.

Donations and offers of support are always welcome.
