Sodium Fluoride dangers in toothpaste

Fluoride in your water

Now, I understand that authorities need to put chlorine in the water to treat the water. But I object to them putting fluoride in the water to treat me. What gives them that right?

Fluoride has been linked to many effects in humans.

‘Leg pains, headaches, flu-like symptoms, shivers?’ – it could be fluorosis. 48 per cent of children in fluoride treated water areas in the UK show signs of fluorosis, according to one UK Government research study. Anyone overdosing on fluoride risks skeletal fluorosis and then arthritis.

According to the handbook ‘Clinical Toxicology of Commercial Products’, fluoride is a little less poisonous than arsenic, but above lead.

Pregnant women and children are actually advised to avoid fluoride in American Government leaflets. What are they supposed to do? Move out of the area until they give birth?

Fluoride has been linked in research to thyroid problems, hip fractures and even some cancers. One tell-tale sign is that the teeth can go mottled in colour, even brown.

Fluoride in your toothpaste

But then we come to this myopic belief that we all need fluoride in mouthwash and toothpaste on top.

Now read your toothpaste label. Many contain 1% or more sodium fluoride.

What is sodium flurried? Farmers know. If you go to any hardware store in the USA or the UK you will find Sodium Fluoride. It is rat poison.

And why would you give fluoride toothpaste to your kids? The marginal benefit is arguable to say the least. Does fluoride really save children’s teeth, or would restricting sugar and sweets have more benefit?

Sodium fluoride is a toxic by-product of the fertilizer and aluminium industries and is ordinarily used in rat poisons, psychotropic drugs, insecticides …and toothpastes.

Consider this. The following warning used to be found on all fluoride toothpastes in the USA:

"As in all fluoride toothpastes, keep out of the reach of children under 6 years of age.

If you accidentally swallow more than used for brushing, seek professional assistance or contact a Poison Control Center Immediately"

Are you sure you want to put fluoride toothpaste in your mouth? And what are you doing encouraging your children to use it? There are smarter choices you can make!
