John Millward commenced nonpracticing as a GP in 1962 and continued for 30 years before opening his own clinic for complementary medicine and allergies in 1995. Former mayor of Bournemouth. Sadly now deceased.

Madeleine Kingsley (MA Cantab) is a journalist and Relate counsellor with a special interest in advocacy for those who are young, vulnerable and troubled.
Barbara Cox is a highly regarded nutritionist, health article author and business woman. She became passionate about the importance of eating healthy during a ten-year stay in Japan, a country renowned for its low levels of obesity, cancer and heart disease. On her return to the UK, Barbara founded Nutrichef, a company that produces high quality healthy meals and delivers them to customers’ homes. Through her consultations with Nutrichef customers across the UK, Barbara advises people with a range of concerns, including people wishing to lose weight, athletes training for sport events, people suffering from serious illnesses like cancer or people who simply want to know what it means to eat healthily. 



In 2008, Barbara was awarded the National Title of Entrepreneur of the Year by the British Chambers of Commerce. She is a former Canadian national junior skating champion, a contributor to the books Fit for Motorsport, Kitchen Table Tycoon and the nutrition chapters in Teach Yourself Aromatherapy



In Barbara’s spare time, she has written articles for ICON magazine since 2006 and is very honoured to become a Patron of CANCERactive.


 
   Ken and Eileen Cannon, Ken and Eileen were moved to set up their own charity, Mile Walk Fundraisers, to provide comforts for patients in cancer Clatterbridge Oncology unit when their own experiences, particularly with their son, showed that there was a need for a more human approach to treatment.
Jan de Vries Jan de Vries is a man who has been synonymous with expert complementary healthcare for over 40 years, both in the UK and abroad. He has 7 clinics, 5 health and diet centres plus 3 affiliated clinics in the UK offering osteopathy to acupuncture, herbal medicine to homeopathy and massage. Sadly now deceased.
Diane Yeo, Former CEO and driving force in the teenage cancer charity Sargent Cancer Care.
