Registered as a charity in 1997, Myeloma UK is the only organisation dealing exclusively with myeloma and its related disorders in the UK. Our broad and innovative range of services cover every aspect of myeloma, from information and support to improving standards of treatment and care through education, research, campaigning and awareness. This gives Myeloma UK a unique insight into the myeloma community and enables it to distil both local and national perspectives. Having this insight helps us to provide tailored and targeted services ensuring that all service users have access to what they need, when they need it.
Myeloma UK works with:
Patients, carers and family members, to help them cope with everything a diagnosis of myeloma brings;
Doctors, to find better ways of treating myeloma;
Nurses, to improve care for patients;
Researchers, to improve treatments, reduce side-effects and develop preventative and curative strategies;
Other charities, and policy and decision-makers, to campaign for optimum and equal access to treatment and care.
At Myeloma UK we are passionate and dedicated about what we do and have a relentless commitment to achieving our goals. We are staffed by a small but effective team, managed by a Board of Directors and guided by expert advisory panels. We rely almost entirely on voluntary donations and fundraising activities, without which we could not provide the services we do.
To ensure as many people as possible affected by myeloma are provided with the highest level of service, administration and running costs are kept to an absolute minimum.
