Help Adolescents With Cancer HAWC Manchester

Greater Manchester
A self-help group with 580 members that was founded in 1991. It was the first of its kind in the country to offer support for teenagers and adolescents with cancer. Entirely self-funding, the group depends solely on donations from the public and the fundraising efforts of its members. The group welcomes all teenagers and adolescents and offers members the opportunity to take part in social outings, group meetings and most importantly of all, support and counselling, i.e. a space to talk, to explore feelings and new ways of dealing with problems and difficulties but especially the opportunity for young people to interact with their peers.
