Researchers from the Federal University of Santa Catarina have shown that good nutrition can play a major part in reducing oxidative stress, increasing survival and preventing breast cancer recurrence. Researchers educated a group of women with breast cancer to reduce red and processed meats and increase consumption of fruit and vegetables.
The better diet group showed ’great results’ according to researchers with higher BMI’s, higher oxidative stress and higher body weight in the ’normal’ group, all factors linked to lower survival times.
