The Charles Clore Unit Day Therapy Unit specialises in caring for and supporting patients with life-threatening illnesses, and their families. These include cancer and complex neurological disorders. They aim to offer support and advice to patients who have:
- a serious and progressive illness and are having problems coping either physically or emotionally;
- complex family problems as a result of illness; Are recovering from treatments.
The team working in the unit includes qualified nurses and healthcare assistants, diversional therapist, an occupational therapist, physiotherapist/lymphoedema specialist, aromatherapist, reflexologist, dietician and access to speech and language therapist. A clinical psychologist has weekly appointments and a specialist doctor holds weekly clinics in the Unit. In addition, they have a team of volunteers who come in regularly to help run and support the Unit.
