The Mayo Clinic in the USA has come up with yet more research on aspirin. 1400 men studied over a five and a half year period showed that those who took a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (that’s aspirin to you and me) daily, developed only half the prostate cancer of non-takers. Like fish oil/omega 3, aspirin blocks the production of bad localised hormones like prostaglandins.
The Mayo Clinic has also found that those who took 81mgs of aspirin daily (be careful - this is only one sixth of a normal tablet) had 50% lower risk of colon cancer. As we have mentioned here before, aspirin reduces the growth of polyps and a carcinogenic bile acid, produced when too much fat is consumed.
