Apple joins with uBiome to monitor your gut bacteria

2015 Research

Apple has formed a partnership with the California biotech company, uBiome, which has been working for several years to better understand the relationship between our health and the types of bacteria that reside inside our guts.

This is how it will work:

First, you download an Apple app.

Then you fill out a survey within the app that asks questions including your health history, eating habits, and sleeping patterns.

Then, you’ll get a kit by post, and you use a swab across your toilet paper, returning it to uBiome.

Shortly afterwards you will receive a full analysis, enabling you to compare your microbiome to all thse around you. The analysis will be done by men and women, young and old, and by diet types, and illness types.

It could make them both a lot of money.
