Cancer Research UK has just published a report that half of all UK women aged 50 - 64 have used HRT and a third still do. What has actually happened since the 5 year American research study was actually stopped last autumn after only 20 months because of unacceptable increases in heart problems and cancers? Don´t we ever learn? After all wild yam supplements (the precursor to natural progesterone) are known to work.
Now the powers that be are telling us that an HRT patch will help men prevent prostate cancer. However, many such cancers are also driven by too much oestradiol, one form of oestrogen, and so it´s doubtful that adding to the oestrogen levels for prostate cancer prevention would be less catastrophic than it was for women in the US test.
