This group is a self-help group operating in the Edinburgh and Lothian area, managed by and for men with prostate cancer, their families and carers. They hold members’ meetings regularly both at the Maggie´s Centre at the Western General Hospital, Edinburgh and in Livingston, West Lothian. The group has 150+ members affected by prostate cancer. At the meetings the members can share their experiences of diagnosis and treatment and learn about new developments in the ever-changing field of prostate cancer. They also run a "buddy" system through which the “buddies” can give support to another man by talking about their own cancer experience, choice of treatment,and issues faced in work and in day-to-day life.
