How safe is your Talcum Powder?
Talcum powder, or talc, is lovingly wiped on the posteriors of many a baby and used by women and men the world over, but just how safe is it?
Well in fact, it is chemically similar to asbestos, a known cancer causing substance and has been named and shamed in America as being carcinogenic itself.
It is found in baby and body powders and even on condoms the world over yet there is concern that it is toxic if inhaled and may have links to fallopian tube fibrosis and infertility.
An American Journal of Epidemology study found talcum powder to be directly and causal linked to an increased risk of ovarian cancer and general urinary tract disorders.
